Challenge numero uno in the Triple Threat Tour is to complete the Flora London Marathon; 26 miles 385 yards of knee-pounding, ankle-grinding, back-breaking action! This will be my second time running the course after taking part in the centenary London Marathon for the MS Society, in 2008.

The race itself was awesome; the streets were filled with crowds urging on the runners and just looking around to see thousands of people each running for their own causes was an inspiring sight. In fact, it was shortly after the race that the idea for the Triple Threat Tour took place, making this the perfect event to kick off the tour!

Monday April 27th – Friday May 1st 2009

Part deux of the Triple Threat Tour which involves me cycling the length of the UK, in 5 testicle-trouncing days, from Land’s End to John O’Groats (Le Jog). Since hearing about it when I was knee-high to a grasshopper on a family trip to Land’s end, it’s something that I have wanted to do.

It amounts to travelling over 874 miles within 5 days - a gargantuan task in anyone’s book. This is undoubtedly the most physically demanding of the three challenges, especially in the daze of post-marathon exhaustion. This is where the support crew will play a vital role, rendezvousing at various points along the journey and keeping me from keeling over en-route!

The final leg of the Triple Threat Tour involves completing the Three Peaks Challenge. This in itself means hiking the three tallest peaks in Scotland (Ben Nevis), England (Scafell Pike) and Wales (Mount Snowdon) in just 24 hours, totting up over 475 miles of sleep deprived mayhem!

This will be no stroll in the park, especially with my body desperately trying to recover from the previous two challenges. When it’s all said and done, I’ll be at the top of Snowdon on May 3rd 2009 having raised over £10,000 for the MS Society and having increased awareness of MS amongst the general public. Here’s hoping...
